The Journey Begins

Cheers to learning to do something for the first time, and to always striving to be better

For years I’ve battled to live up to the expectations I set for myself or to be what I believe was expected. My self-talk swung from positive and uplifting to questioning why I needed even to try. I realize that choosing to fail in certain instances was the more natural way to let myself down before drowning my thoughts with the negative self-talk.
I have learned that these thoughts are based on our decision to value what other people may think. Our minds seek evidence to validate the doubt and fear that creeps in to make us choose not to take action. The decisions we take should focus on learning how our thoughts make us feel. Basking in the heat of negativity will only emphasize the ideas that keep us down and leave us short of solutions. The way we frame our views will ultimately guide how we feel, look and act. There is no way we can be solution-oriented when all our mind projects are problems. Those who succeed are those who transcend passed their setbacks, accepting feedback and moving on. Cheers to learning to do something for the first time, and to always striving to be better.

Are you battling with your expectations? Does your self-talk have you questioning why you should try? Maybe you drown your creativity with negative self-talk? The setbacks along the way are simply feedback. Keep learning, in failure lies the recipe to succeed.
